Garena Free Fire New Optimization In Next Update 2023

This Wednesday (11), Garena will be launching the new version of its battle royale; it will be bringing several new features, in addition to bringing users improvements in the servers, that is, the “end” of the high ping and faster access matches.

Through interviews conducted by Garena with Free Fire users from all over the world, Garena identified several problems in Free Fire.

With that, it will bring a series of improvements from the next update; one of the main changes is the improvement in the servers and the decrease in the time to find a match.

The developer issued an official note on its website this week; check it out below:

We are pleased to share several optimizations to enhance your gaming experience. Free Fire has a solid foundation for accessibility, but as we become more focused on adding new content, many of you are having more trouble running the game.

Over the coming months, we'll do our best to address some of Free Fire's biggest pain points, including basic navigation and lag.

Simplified in-game interactions

When interviewing Free Fire players, we noticed that it took more than 5 minutes to launch the game on some devices.

The developer team tested the common devices used to play Free Fire and found that the long duration is mainly caused by loading too much content at once, including all kinds of notifications, pop-ups, and other information. To make your Free Fire experience smoother, we've made changes to smooth your in-game experience:
  • Login and Lobby Optimizations:
  • We shortened the login time and added automatic login.
  • Less popup.
  • We shortened the duration between arriving at the Waiting Island and getting on the plane.
  • Faster loading of friends list.
  • Smoother Interfaces:
  • Including mode selection, team lobby, match results, Vault, events, matchmaking and missions.
  • Delay Optimizations:
  • Reduced game delays.
  • Reduced delays on the match results page.
Of course, it's our ongoing commitment to improving your in-game experience, so stay tuned for more of these optimizations in the future!

Damage and “teleportation” bugs

Over the past two years, the development team has invested heavily in identifying and resolving bug damage issues, including mid-range shotguns and hidden barriers 40 meters away.

As we delved deeper into these issues, we realized that high ping is often the root cause, giving players the false impression of bug or hack-like behavior. We are now focusing on resolving the high ping issue to further decrease the damage bugs.

In this patch, we fixed 2 frequent high ping consequences. The first, and one of the most common damage mistakes, is when your damage is invalidated even before the enemy deploys a gel wall. The development team made optimizations so that the actions performed now are as close to the command time as possible.

The other optimization alleviates the “teleportation” movement issue, which is often mistakenly perceived as a hack. Players who move with high ping tend to dash forward instantly, making them difficult to target.

We've now made their movements more progressive, making them more predictable and less buggy. We'll add more improvements in the coming months to make high-ping movements smoother.

Internet connection

In the coming months, we will introduce an internet-related update as another effort to address the high ping issue. Free Fire covers several countries, and its servers span the entire world.

To better serve our people in less populated countries, we use the same server for multiple countries so everyone can enjoy a short waiting period; this gave rise to the high ping issue.

We plan to address the issue with our dual network connection, which, if enabled, detects which of your Wi-Fi or cellular connections is better and switches to that network. Our other long-term plans include adding more servers and developing game acceleration algorithms.

That's it for this time! The dev team loves to hear from you, so we encourage everyone to continue to send in feedback and bug reports. When contacting us, please include a clear screenshot/recording, your UID, mode, map, and departure time (including time).

Free Fire Optimization Update Schedule

The update takes place this Wednesday morning (11). The maintenance of the servers will start after 01:00 (Brasília time), with a forecast to end at 09:00 (Brasília time). The new game version should reach the app stores around 07:00 (Brasília time).

It is worth mentioning that it is impossible to access the server during maintenance.
